The highest house in Bardou, Daisse is one of the largest houses in the village. It was one of the few buildings still intact when Klaus and Jean arrived. They lived here during the first two years, patching the roof and covering broken windows with plywood. The house once belonged to Marinette Daïsse, who was born there in the early 20th century. She went to school in Bardou, left when she married, and returned briefly during the Second World War.
